2/20/1982	The Kangla Tongbi war memorial built for 221 members of Advance Base Depot, who laid down their lives to repulse several waves of Japanese attacks, was finally shifted to College of Materials Management Jabalpur. The original memorial was erected on 15 Apr 1946 from local stone and the main epitaph displayed above is of black Naga stone.

8/18/2000	The Supreme Court rejects a petition filed by former Navy chief Vishnu Bhagwat challenging his dismissal from service and the consequent direction stripping him of the title Admiral.
2/1/1942	17 Indian Division's were withdrawn over vast stretches and the British evacuation in Burma was the longest in British military history. The Division was to subsequently extract terrible retribution from the Japanese Army during World War II and to destabilise the Indian Economy with forged notes of 5, 10 and 100 Rupees.
11/30/1986	Sikhs hijack bus, killing 24 at Punjab.
1/2/1953	Government set up a Board of Editors under Dr. Syed Mahmood to prepare a history of Freedom Movement in India.
10/10/1995	G. R Khairnar, the high profile suspended Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Bombay, was reinstated.
2/22/1982	South-South Conference opens in New Delhi.
