Ganendra Mohan Tagore was the first Indian to get the Barrister-at-Law Degree after passing the examination from Lincoln Inn University.

4/13/1919 | Jallianwala Baug massacre. The great Indian tragedy occured in Amritsar which claimed 389 lives and wounded 1,516 activitists fighting for Indian independence. Early in 1919, the Rowlatt Act (Black Act) was passed. This authorized the Government to imprison any person without any trial and conviction in a court of law. This furious act was under the guidence of cruel Brigedier General R. E. H. Dyer and his 50 men troop. Michael O' Dwyer was then the Governor of Punjab who naturally defended the action. This day is observed as Jallianwala Baug Day. |
4/25/1969 | Invalappil Mani Vijayan (or better known as IM Vijayan), Indian Soccer(Football) player, was born in Trissur, Kerala. He was recognised as Indian Player of the Year in 1993, 1997, 1999. He scored the fastest ever International goal against Bhutan at the SAF Games '99, scoring after just 12 seconds. |

10/1/1953 | The first new state in India since 1949, Andhra Pradesh, is established on purely linguistic basis and formally inaugurated. This state was created by sub-dividing state of India, Madras Province and this movement was started by Shriramulu for which he had to sacrifice his life. |

4/9/1965 | Fighting breaks out in the Rann of Kutch between Indian and Pakistani troops. Pakistan attacked Indian borders, Sardar Post, Chhar Bet and Beria Bet, this was manned by the State Armed Police Batallions. In Kutch launched its 8th Infantry Division supported by two regiments of M47/48 Pattons. Operation 'Desert Hawk' was launched to draw away reserves from other vulnerable areas, and possibly to test India's resolve. The Indian Army did not rise to the bait. |
