9/20/1921Pamanmal Hazari Punjabi, right-hand batsman (164 runs in five tests vs Pakistan in 1954-55), was born at Karachi.
2/1/194217 Indian Division's were withdrawn over vast stretches and the British evacuation in Burma was the longest in British military history. The Division was to subsequently extract terrible retribution from the Japanese Army during World War II and to destabilise the Indian Economy with forged notes of 5, 10 and 100 Rupees.

7/20/1991Chithira Tirunal Bala Rama Varma, former Maharaja of Travancore, passed away at the age of 78 years after a brief illness. He was hailed as ""Ashoka the second"", and Gandhiji parised him as a ""Historical wonder"".
9/21/1984National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources and National Institute of Animal Genetics were set up. These institutes were initially located in the campus of southern regional station of National Dairy Research Institute, Bangalore. They were then shifted to Karnal in July 1985.
