2/17/1670Shivaji won SinghGarh Fort from Mughals. This victory was on the shoulders of Tanaji who was martyred in this attack. Shivaji proclaimed ""Garh Aalaa Pan Singh Gela"" which means that Fort was won but the Lion was lost.
4/23/1938Viceroy Lord Linlithgow opens the hydro-electric scheme at Malakand.
6/5/1896Muhammad Ismail Sahib, president of the Madras State Muslim League and freedom fighter, was born at Pettai, Tamil Nadu. He was the member of Rajya Sabha as well as Lok Sabha.
