Aadi Pooram or Andal Jayanthi is celebrated as the birthday of Goddess Andal.

Aadi Pooram is a festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu and is dedicated to Goddess Andal, who is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and the consort of Lord Vishnu.
It is believed that reading Thiruppavai' and 'Lalitha Sahasranamam' on the day gives them blessing of Goddess Andal and Lord Vishnu.
